VALENTY INTERVIEW: FINAL CHAPTER
We asked Feisty Senior Sam why would Rob Gleason be so involved with these Commissioner races in Cambria County? The PAGOP is struggling to find a viable candidate to challenge Casey JR. and in any scenario PA is a Battleground state. The wise sage just laughed. He asked if we had ever driven on the PA turnpike from Johnstown to Harrisburg. He asked if we ever went through a toll both. He said the GLEASONMACHINE wants to be THE toll booth to Harrisburg. Sam feels Emperor Gleason wants to control all grants to Harrisburg whether they be for a Billion dollar factory or an ice cream stand. Why? It's good business development. Well Sam said it wasn't like the Days of Big John Tarquato. The toll to the GleasonMachine could be many things: service hours from the kids in the family to make calls at the GOP victory center, a donation to the PARTY, a right to bid on the applicants insurance, or just to create the feeling in the Grant applicant that he should be eternally grateful to the GleasonMachine. Of course being a toll booth means, that the GleasonMachine can just send the applicant back to start too. The wise Senior said that Cambria County couldn't afford the total control of the GleasonMachine. At his age, Feisty Senior Sam does not want Cambria County to move backwards in time. Valenty shooed us away. He said he had a Campaign, no Crusade, to run. Right before he left, he said that the Spring Primary was the most humiliating thing in his life. He felt like one of those poor senior ladies who is mugged and pistol whipped. Senior Sam said he will have the last laugh very very soon.
